Accessing Safety in Hennepin County

St. Paul, Minnesota

Accessing Safety in Hennepin County’s work is a result of collaboration between The Arc Greater Twin Cities and the Sexual Violence Center. The two organizations came together to build upon their existing relationship and improve services for sexual assault survivors with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Their work strives to foster services that empower survivors by providing them with the skills and resources they need to heal from the effects of sexual violence.

Our Unique Contribution

By focusing on survivors of sexual assault with an intellectual and developmental disability, Accessing Safety in Hennepin County has been able to deeply address the needs and barriers of survivors in this community.  The collaborations work has a local focus and addresses service gaps and needs in Hennepin County, which has a unique blend of urban and suburban communities.
