Albany Respects Individual Safety Through Empowerment

Albany, New York

Albany Respects Individual Safety Through Empowerment (A.R.I.S.E) is a collaboration established in 2010 between Equinox and the Center for Disability Services (CFDS). Equinox is a nonprofit service organization that provides comprehensive services, including domestic violence services, throughout Albany County, New York. CFDS provides comprehensive and innovative services to people with developmental disabilities and chronic medical conditions. Through their collaboration these two organizations are committed to addressing inadequate communication, coordination of services, and peer education, between disability and victim services in Albany County.

Our Unique Contribution

Albany County is the major service hub in northeastern New York, as well as the site of state government and regulatory powers.  As the area’s major disability and domestic violence services providers, CFDS and Equinox are positioned to influence services and policies not only in their county but throughout the state of New York.
