Deaf Gain Collaborative

Rochester, New York

Deaf Gain Collaborative combines the efforts and expertise of Willow Domestic Violence Center (a certified domestic violence agency with a DHS-approved shelter), Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims (a non-profit agency serving the Deaf community), and RESTORE Sexual Assault Services (a sub-organization of Planned Parenthood, co-located at a Child Advocacy Center). Together they are focusing their efforts on increasing cultural and linguistic competency of programs and services at all points of entry for Deaf survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault within Monroe County in Western New York.

Our Unique Contribution

Deaf Gain Collaborative focuses on cultural and linguistic competency through the lens of accessibility for Deaf survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. With their collaborative partners consisting of some of the leaders in the field of domestic violence, sexual violence, and Deaf domestic violence advocacy, all three collaboration member agencies have extensive connections within the community, expanding their reach for implementing change.
