Green Mountain Self Advocates

Green Mountain Self Advocates (GMSA) is a self advocacy organization run by people with developmental disabilities and their allies.  GMSA runs 23 local self advocacy groups across Vermont.  The members of these groups make up this organization that is dedicated to education, public awareness, peer support, and advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities.

Our Unique Contribution

In addition to their advocacy work, Green Mountain Advocates develops resources that makes information accessible to people with disabilities.  Many of their publications are accessible in picture or plain language format.  As an organization lead by self advocates they are leading the way in the self and peer advocate movement.
