Topeka, Kansas

Kansas BELIEVE (Building and Expanding Leaders and Individuals, Experience the Vision of Empowerment) is a collaborative effort between the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence and the Self Advocate Coalition of Kansas (SACK).  The Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence is a statewide network of programs providing support and safety for all victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.  SACK is a statewide self-advocacy group for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  SACK encourages and teaches people to speak up for themselves and to obtain the highest possible level of independence. Kansas BELIEVE is working to address the service gaps for sexual violence survivors with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our Unique Contribution

Kansas BELIEVE is a partnership between two organizations that have independent member organizations located across the state of Kansas.  This type of partnership is the first of its kind, and the structure of their individual organizations positions Kansas BELIEVE to have statewide impact by connecting and educating the organizations within their networks.
