The Mohawk Valley Collaboration is a joint effort by the Resource Center for Independent Living and the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley. Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) is the largest independent living center in the country. For over 30 years they have been working with individuals of all ages with any disability. The YWCA Mohawk Valley is a membership organization dedicated to its mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA is the only New York State-certified provider of domestic and sexual violence crisis services in Oneida County, and the only state-certified provider of sexual violence crisis services in Herkimer County. They provide the only transitional housing program for homeless victims of domestic violence in a five-county region, and work to educate Herkimer County and Oneida County on sexual abuse, dating violence, sexual harassment, and domestic and sexual violence.
