Northern Utah’s Choices Out of Violence

Logan, Utah

Northern Utah’s Choices Out of Violence (NUCOV) is a collaboration between Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA), Utah State University, Center for Persons with Disabilities (CPD), OPTIONS for Independence, and  Utah Division of Services for People with Disabilities, Northern Region.  NUCOV works to achieve a future where lasting partnerships between public and private entities are working together to ensure that survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors have access to compassionate services at every point in the criminal justice system.

Our Unique Contribution

NUCOV developed a comprehensive intake policy to ensure that survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors received a compassionate and accessible response no matter where they entered the system.  This collaboration is also addressing safety of service recipients and staff through a safety assessment tool.
