Troy, New York

CORE (Culture Of Respect and Empowerment) is a collaboration in Rensselaer County, NY between Unity House of Troy’s Domestic Violence Services, the Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley (ILCHV), and the Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance Program.  Unity House of Troy’s Domestic Violence Services is the only New York State licensed domestic violence residential and non-residential services program in Rensselaer County.  ILCHV is a nonprofit organization serving and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities.  The Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance Program has been providing services to victims of sexual assault, crime, and violence, in Rensselaer County for 35 years.  These groups came together to address the need for improved services and response to survivors of domestic and sexual violence with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
