Registration is the vehicle through which you can learn about who plans to participate in the webinar and what they need in order to access the virtual event. As part of registration, ask if participants need electronic copies of materials in advance, captioning, materials in large font, and any other accommodations. Follow up with anyone requesting accommodations to ensure you’re meeting their needs. Close registration at least one week prior to the virtual event to give yourself ample time to respond to accommodation requests. Be sure to stick to the closing date to avoid putting yourself in a position where you allow those not requesting accommodations to register up until the last minute, but have to turn away a person who needs an accommodation. Be sure your registration mechanism, such as an online survey, is accessible. For additional accessible registration tips, check out Vera’s Registration Tip Sheet.
