This toolkit is designed to provide law enforcement investigators with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to conduct effective interviews with victims of sexual assault who have intellectual disabilities. Throughout the course, investigators will explore the unique realities faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities, learn how to implement effective communication strategies, and understand investigative approaches. They will also gain insight into navigating potential challenges, writing clear and effective reports, and more. With practical lessons focused on preparing for and conducting interviews with victims, this course ensures that investigators are equipped to approach each case with respect and confidence.
