In this course, you will learn how to expand your current contract template to include expectations regarding accessibility, include key information and guidelines on accessibility to include in your faculty orientations, and provide support to presenters and moderators before and during an event to help them actively promote an accessible training environment.Â

The policies and procedures of your organizations help to shape the delivery of services. They affirm your organization’s mission, provide the framework for your organization’s culture, and establish its expectations for individual members of its staff. This course addresses key ingredients to policy and procedure development that accounts for survivor safety and accessibility. In addition, a few policies will be outlined that are critical to providing accessible services that account for survivor wellbeing in your organizations. Together these contribute to a culture and framework for effectively serving people with disabilities and Deaf people who have experienced violence and abuse.

This course is designed to help you provide qualified interpretation during in-person meetings and conferences, as well as live and on-demand virtual trainings, and embed interpretation in video-based resources.
Through videos with experts who use and coordinate interpretation services and step-by-step guidance, you will learn how to:

This course is designed to help you select an accessible city and venue, design an accessible meeting room set up for the size and purpose of your event, and leverage signage and way-finding to help attendees navigate your meeting space with the greatest ease. Through interactive activities, short recorded lectures and opportunities to test your knowledge, you will be guided through steps you can take to ensure your venue and meeting rooms meet the needs of all of your participants.
