The Movement

Mobilizing at the Intersection

There is a growing movement of people with disabilities, Deaf people and their allies, working at the intersection of violence and disability.

People with disabilities and Deaf people are raising the alarm about the epidemic rates of violence in their lives and organizing to create change.

Advocates from survivor-advocacy and disability organizations are forging partnerships to create safe and accessible avenues for healing and support for survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors.

Social movements, including those focused on disability and anti-violence, are joining forces and mobilizing to address systemic inequalities that are at the root of violence and, more and more, that includes dismantling ableism.

Together, we are all reimagining a world in which people with disabilities and Deaf people are flourishing, valued, and celebrated.
