Creating Accessible In-Person Meeting Spaces
Designing in-person trainings that are inclusive of and welcoming to people with disabilities requires thoughtful attention to the accessibility of your meeting space. From making sure that your meeting is hosted in a city with direct flights to making your meeting location has accessible restrooms to the arrangement of the furniture in your meeting space, the decisions that you make will impact the accessibility of your event and the experiences of attendees with disabilities. This course is designed to help you select an accessible city and venue, design an accessible meeting room set up for the size and purpose of your event, and leverage signage and way-finding to help attendees navigate your meeting space with the greatest ease. Through interactive activities, short recorded lectures and opportunities to test your knowledge, you will be guided through steps you can take to ensure your venue and meeting rooms meet the needs of all of your participants.
