Building Accessible and Safe Services through Policies and Procedures

The policies and procedures of your organizations help to shape the delivery of services. They affirm your organization’s mission, provide the framework for your organization’s culture, and establish its expectations for individual members of its staff. This course addresses key ingredients to policy and procedure development that accounts for survivor safety and accessibility. In addition, a few policies will be outlined that are critical to providing accessible services that account for survivor wellbeing in your organizations. Together these contribute to a culture and framework for effectively serving people with disabilities and Deaf people who have experienced violence and abuse.

This course includes four lessons:

  2. Creating Procedures to Support Your Policies
  3. Policy Considerations for Survivor Advocacy Organizations
  4. Policy Considerations for Disability Organizations
