Ensuring an Accessible Domestic Violence Awareness Month: Social Media

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and many service providers are preparing to use the month to build awareness and to reach survivors. While people with disabilities and Deaf people experience high rates of violence, they are often not represented in DVAM campaigns. One of the most important ways to reach survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors is to ensure your outreach activities for DVAM are accessible.

This webinar will focus on ensuring that people with disabilities are able to access and engage with information and outreach. Syd Lewin – Activating Change’s Access Coordinator – will review accessibility tips for common outreach and engagement strategies such as social media and video materials, and present examples of common pitfalls and useful techniques.
